Who we are

Welcome to BYU Racing. Sponsored by the Brigham Young University Mechanical Engineering Department, students are applying knowledge from the classroom to design and build a fully electric formula style racecar. Here students are exposed to new and challenging circumstances that allow them to learn many skills outside of STEM such as communication, problem solving, leadership, and creating business proposals. Students travel with the team car to compete in the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) competition in June against other teams in static and dynamic events. BYU Racing accepts all students regardless of prior STEM knowledge. With 6 design teams, a capstone team, a business department and countless projects there is always a place for you here! We meet in the Motor Sport Lab (MSL) on the first floor of the Engineering Building (EB) Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm. Come and check us out!
